Merlin gathered all the knights from the surrounding area. He led them into the gardens around the castle and said: “I have sensed the presence of Arthur’s spirit, the one who possesses Excalibur — not here, not today. His spirit has been carried into the future. Your task is to find it and bring it back.”

The knights whispered among themselves. They couldn’t stay still. Some knew what the wizard was talking about, while others didn’t. Merlin hushed them all: “Quiet! Quiet! Let me explain. Neither time nor space sets limits on him. But the power of Excalibur, and the dark magic holding it, gives me no more than 60 minutes to keep the time tunnel open.”

Deeply excited, the knights began talking among themselves again. Each one of them wanted to bring back the spirit of Excalibur. Some even let out victorious shouts. They rose to the challenge — but failed.
